Decline of Instrument Repair Technicians in Stores

Lately, we are hearing a lot about the shortage of instrument repair technicians, especially for woodwind and brass instruments. Maybe you have visited a large retail store and were told it would take 4, 6, or even 8 weeks for a play condition repair on a saxophone or a trumpet brace re solder. We believe the focus of some large music stores has shifted, and for years we have seen them move away from repairs that were once common for any store to handle.
On any given day our repair shop handles partial and complete re pads of saxophones, flutes, clarinets, piccolos, oboes, as well as chem cleanings, dent repair, bell straightening, and re soldering broken parts of brass instruments.
We are also very passionate about vintage instruments. Perhaps you have Grandpa's 1954 saxophone that you want to bring back to life. Or Grandma’s flute, which she played all through college. Or you bought a Yamaha YAS-62 off eBay, and it doesn’t play the best when it's delivered.
We have new and used instruments available for sale and support everything we sell. We also aren’t afraid to work on “unbranded or lower brand” instruments.
